Would you like to refresh your professional development by learning – first hand – about another education system… would you like to shadow a peer in Australia for a week? AHDS is proud to partner with LEAP to give you just that opportunity.
This is an exchange programme with a difference. Rather than a simple exchange we take advantage of the different holiday times to give you, and your Australian counterpart, an opportunity for ‘guided immersion’ in each other’s systems. The receiving school leader hosts you in their home and introduce you to their world of work. This takes place during our summer break (while our antipodean cousins are still in term time). Your Australian host would then make a week-long visit to your school for a similar learning experience at the end of September/beginning of October. There is a rigorous matching process to ensure that you are partnered with an appropriate school/individual for your exchange.
AHDS participants in previous programmes could not speak highly enough of the experience and the learning that it offered them. In addition, while in Australia you will have the chance to take part in a LEAP conference bringing together all the LEAP participants (from Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland and the USA) for a day.
