This session equips AHDS members with an understanding of neurodiversity in school workplaces. Participants will explore:
▪ Understanding neurodiversity in educational workplaces, particularly supporting neurodivergent teachers and staff
▪ Practical strategies for recognising and addressing unconscious bias towards neurodivergent individuals in education
▪ The benefits of neurodivergent thinking in leadership and decision making processes
▪ Creating neuroinclusive school cultures that support different neurotypes effectively
▪ Supporting late-diagnosed colleagues and managing disclosure sensitively without becoming the 'neurodiversity expert’
▪ Real educational scenarios
This session will be delivered by Tony McCaffery from Diversity Scotland, an expert-led organisation supporting workplaces to integrate equity, inclusion, and accessibility into their culture, policies, and leadership.
