Mental Health & Wellbeing for School Leaders

This session supports senior leaders in navigating the pressures of high-stakes educational environments. Participants will explore: 

▪ Managing stress and burnout whilst leading a school effectively in challenging circumstances
▪ Strategies for maintaining personal wellbeing in high-pressure educational environments
▪ Addressing stigma associated with mental health in education settings
▪ Supporting team resilience and creating psychologically safe workplaces for staff
▪ Recognising early warning signs in yourself and colleagues

This session will be delivered by Tony McCaffery from Diversity Scotland, an expert-led organisation supporting workplaces to integrate equity, inclusion, and accessibility into their culture, policies, and leadership.

Tony is the multiple award-winning Founder and CEO of Diversity Scotland (known internationally as Diversity Company) – a leading Culture, Leadership, Equity and Inclusion consultancy that supports organisations to embrace diversity, advance equity, drive inclusion, and create a sense of belonging in the workplace and communities.
With over 30 years’ experience in People & Talent, Tony has achieved success as a leader in HR, Learning & Development, Employability and Recruitment. They have worked with large global corporates through to small UK organisations across the public, private, and voluntary sectors, to advise these clients through ‘disruptive consultation’, coaching, facilitated group learning and the implementation of practical solutions that drive change and make a difference. Tony is an Advisory Friend to the UK’s Institute of Equality & Diversity Practitioners and Advisory Expert to AI driven online safety business Big Sister.

This session is for AHDS members and is free to attend. The session will run from 4 - 5pm.
