ASL, Equality and Rights Legislation – What do I need to know?

This 1hr session, will be led by Maxine Jolly, Fran Foreman and other colleagues from the Education Scotland’s Inclusion, Wellbeing and Equalities (IWE) team. Delegates will get the opportunity to hear about key pieces of legislation and consider them through a school leadership lens. The IWE team will focus on the three following pieces of legislation in turn, highlighting what school leaders need to know about each and allowing plenty of time for questions and discussion.

  • The Education (Additional support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004
  • The Equality Act 2010
  • The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024

This session is for AHDS members only and is free to attend. This will take place from 4 - 5pm on Thursday 16th January.
